It is with great pleasure as the Director of Education for the IIDA Texas/Oklahoma Chapter, to bring to your attention that the IIDA 2010 Student Conference will be held in Downtown Houston, February 25-26.
This event is co-chaired by Rebekka Glass and Shanna Pajares who are dedicated to making this year's conference a successful and distinguished event. As the discipline of interior design continues to grow and build momentum, our role as educators and practitioners is to enable and facilitate the present conducive growth, hence garnering more proponents.
An exciting year, this will be the 10th anniversary of the IIDA Student Conference. We will be inviting students from each of the 17 universities in Texas and Oklahoma currently accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), as well as other interior design programs in the Chapter and in Arkansas and Louisiana. Professors will send over 150 interior design students, 40 amongst them will be hand selected by their respective educators for the opportunity to participate in a charette competition. Similarly, the two day conference will include tours throughout Houston, engaging small-group presentations, and a keynote speaker address. This Student Conference is an immaculate venue that brings together students, professional Interior Designers, educators and manufacturers' representatives for learning and networking opportunities.
We look forward to seeing all of you there!
